The Eight Fifty Committee is seeking a Communications Director to lead our social media presence, community outreach, and media relations. This is a volunteer position with the potential to become a paid role as the organization grows.
You will manage the organization’s social media accounts, coordinate with Veterans Collaborative’s communications team, develop media outreach strategies, write press releases for program announcements and events, and build relationships with local media outlets across Preston, Monongalia, Marion, Harrison, Taylor, and Wood counties and surrounding areas.
The ideal candidate is organized, a strong writer, comfortable with social media platforms, and passionate about veteran advocacy. Military service or connection to the veteran community is valued but not required.
